The Overview
When booking a place to stay the options are usually binary, stay close to the city center and pay a little more or go more remote and spend more time getting to the sites you want to see and visit. I chose to stay close to the city and Charming & Cozy Ambiente Apartments delivered on location.
The Seven Senses Review
๐ Cadence โ Sound (Score: 9/10)
Overall the room was very quiet. On a couple of occasions a loud motorcycle could be heard from the window but regular traffic could not be heard.
โ Unwind โ Touch (Score: 9/10)
This is a full 1 bedroom apartment, with living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The unit also included a washer/dryer machine which I made use of during the stay.
๐ Palate โ Taste (Score: N/A/10)
Since this is an apartment and not a hotel, there was no breakfast however this building is located right next to a restaurant called Pan Cakes which sells coffee and pan cakes. It is highly convenient to walk down and order and the cost is reasonable.
๐ Aroma โ Smell (Score: 9/10)
The hallway to the room needs a carpet and paint refresh but overall the apartment was in great condition. A point was dinged for a bathroom sink that didn’t drain fast enough and likely needs to be declogged at some point.
๐ Vista โ Sight (Score: 7/10)
The room doesn’t offer any spectacular vistas outside. You can see the hills in the far distance and the sun does shine brightly during the summer but there are heavy black out shades to keep most of the light out.
๐ Sanctuary โ Spirit (Score: 8/10)
The check-in was all self-service. A combination to a lockbox in an open area is provided and the keys are inside. A keyfob is then used to unlock the main door to the building. While instructions were provided, it took me a few tries to figure out where to place the keyfob on the inside and outside for it to work. Instructions could have been clearer.
๐งญ Wander โ Instinct (Score: 10/10)
Where there were deficiency in other categories, the location made up for any failings. The apartment is walking distance to every major site in Bratislava and a tram and bus stops are nearby for sites further out. Make sure you get the Bratislava Card with transport to use the trams and buses for free!

The Verdict
If you want close proximity to restaurants, historical sites, and other venues this is the perfect place to experience much of what Bratislava has to offer. The apartment is not structured for digital nomads looking for a place to work out of as there is no desk or computer chair. It is great for solo travelers or couples with no children.
