Transition day: Milan to Amsterdam. The kind of day that exists only in the spaces between cities — airports, Bolt rides, the strange limbo of being neither here nor there.
€30 Bolt from the apartment to LIN (Milan Linate). A quick, efficient ride through a city that had given me two excellent days. The Duomo in the rearview mirror, the Alps somewhere beyond the clouds.
Flight. No drama. The best kind of flight is the one you forget. When Milan had been warm and golden and Amsterdam greeted me with grey skies and canal light. €30 Bolt from AMS (Amsterdam Schiphol) to the apartment. Twenty minutes from runway to front door — the kind of airport proximity that spoils you for every other city.
Palate — Nepalese in Amsterdam
Dinner at a Nepalese restaurant — €89 for two. Momos, curry, the warm spice profile that bridges the Himalayas and the Low Countries. A meal shared, which always changes the arithmetic of dining — the cost is divided but the experience is multiplied. After three solo weeks across Georgia and Italy, sitting across a table from someone and sharing dishes felt like a different kind of travel entirely.
Tomorrow: Amsterdam begins.
